Yesterday Jon Hand, Florence (boys' tennis; won at third singles,
6-4, 6-0, over Adam Vidal to give the Flashes their first ever NJSIAA
Group I Central Tournament title in the win over New Providence).
Steven Fernandez and Ben Cornfeld (boys' tennis; won at second
doubles to clinch a 3-2 win over East Brunswick for the Pirates
first NJSIAA Group IV Central Tournament title since 1999).
Eric Reilly, Notre Dame (baseball; the senior
right-handed pitcher tossed a complete-game one-hitter and struck
out a season-high 12 batters to win his CVC-leading seventh game
of the season with a 9-0 victory over West Windsor-Plainsboro South,
which gave the Irish a share of the Colonial Division title).
Angela Sebasto, McCorristin (softball; tossed a no-hitter and struck
out 17 batters, one short of a perfect game, as McCorristin shut
out Riverside, 14-0).
